A few kilometers from Turin there is the CASTLE OF ROPPOLO, one of the most ancient manors of Piedmont, dating back to the ninth century and from which you can see a wonderful view of LAKE VIVERONE.

From the terraces of the ancient fortification you can admire the contrast of shadow and light, and of colours that changes from an intense light-blue of the lake waters, to the vivid green of the cultivated plain, to the snowy white of the mountain on the background.

The rooms of the Castles, all FURNISHED and full of WORK OF ART, they welcomed numerous great historical figures, while some paintings preserve the memory of the passage of kings, princesses and dukes.

In addition to the interior you can visit the GARDEN and the SECULAR CELLARS where thousands of bottles age peacefully. At the end of the visit you can also discover the prison of the “walled alive” and learn about its fascinating story.

We will then continue to Caluso to get to the REGIONAL WINE SHOP OF THE PROVINCE OF TURIN, hosted in the rooms of Valperga Palace of Masino. ancient residence dating back to the eighth century and immersed in a large park.

To welcome us we will find a SOMMELIER that will guide us along a fascinating exploratory path within the ANCIENT CELLARS, skilfully renovated, dating back to 1600, to then immerse ourselves in the fragrant flavors of the wines of our Province through an unique experience that alternates tastings of full-bodied red wines with light and fruity whites as the inevitable ERBALUCE of Caluso. 

The TASTING OF THE 3 LABELS is led by the sommelier and accompanied by platters of typical Canavesan COLD CUTS, CHEESES of the Piedmont valleys, bread and breadsticks, PASTRY dry craft typical of the Canavese. canavesana.

Program:

• Meeting at the Castle of Roppolo;
• Entrance and guided visit of the Castles;
• Transfer to Caluso with own vehicles or bus;
• visit of the regional wine shop of the province of Turin and guided tasting of 3 labels, accompanied by cold cuts, cheeses and pastries of the territory.
